I really bumped the shit out of King Just’s ‘Mystics of the God’ tape when I was like 15 or 16. From intro to outro. I loved the ‘Pizza man’ skit. I remember being on a family vacation at the Grand Canyon, sitting in the back of the rental, typical teenager style, headphones on blaring this tape, while my parents drove. Rude. That’s why I’m never having kids.


Anyway I tried to find a bio on King Just, but was unable to find anything. When I typed “King Just” into Wikipedia
all I got was this dizzying list of Wu affiliates, which he is not on, but it is definitely worth checking out.

I first heard this song on Kool Dj Red Alert’s show on 98.7 KISS FM. The part of Redman’s verse where he spazzes out may have been what made me want to rap.

This is kind of like ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’ meets ‘Pee Wee’s Playhouse’, with a rapping sea creature driving a driving a red, paper Mache, 68′ Cadillac with dinosaurs, luchadores, and debaucherous women.
