Suckadelic & Topps Star Wars Galaxy 4 Trading Cards!

A couple months back I was in ‘Coat of Arms’ on Clinton St. talking about bootleg toys and how I wanted to make some, when Brian who runs the shop was like, ‘You gotta check out Suckadelic.”

So I did, and he was right. Suckadelic has mastered the bootleg game.

This is the Chinatown Warrior, which I had no defense against purchasing after browsing the site.

I wrote to the Sucklord through the Suckadelic site and told him how dope I thought his operation was, and after emailing back and forth a couple of times he invited me to come down to his Chinatown laboratory to check it out. He schooled me on a couple of things off the bat…(I had brought by one of my bootleg projects for advice) and showed me the ins and outs of his operation. I also got to meet his girl Spooky Booty, who was really cool too.

But this isn’t about that.

This is about hard work paying off.

Apparently, Topps Trading Cards has asked the Sucklord to recruit a bunch of “cool” “underground” “designer toy” artists to shill for the latest series of official Star Wars cards by Topps. The new angle Topps is pursuing are these one-off, hand done sketchcards that they pack in with the regular cards. They asked him to get some new blood into the mix to do a batch. Naturally he went for it and recruited a gang of his compatriots to crank out almost 3000 of these things, which they went for readily. You may find one of these rare, hand-drawn gems randomly inserted in limited packs of Star Wars Galaxy 4 or see a massive collection of photos from this unique project on the dedicated flickr page
