ScumLife

When I was asked to blog for ScumLife I thought I was going to have to keep the subject matter to Gangster Rap or Skateboarding or something. But Tone told me: “No way, you can write about anything you want.”So then I decided for my first post I’d write about this Kate Bush video.

Maybe because I’m currently obsessed with her music. I was only just introduced to her music this past year. When I first heard her name I thought she was some current alternative singer/songwriter type bore. I had no idea she was this mad genius, who’s been eccentrically making these amazing music video’s since the seventies. Her songs and videos are high concept mini-epics in which she designs the costumes, does the choreography, and of course writes and performs the music. They’re all weird and beautiful.

Or maybe it’s because we hit 4,000 US solders killed in Iraq recently (and countless, so countless no one has even tried to count, dead Iraqi’s. Women, children, guys just tring to go to work, etc.) All that human energy extinguished. Add to that the rising cost of this giant elephant in the room. Everyone on the TV news seems super concerned with this “recession” were in, but rarely is mentioned the $ 341.1 MILLION ! we spend PER DAY ( ! ) on this war. (Source : CostofWar.com).
