Okay. Everybody knows Christmas is for girls and young children. Even Jesus would hate Christmas. I’d like to think he was a “I don’t need anything crazy for my birthday” kinda guy.

I dunno what Doc Strange’s take on Jesus is (being that Doc’s ‘down with the Tribe’) but I do know that Doc has put together the most obscure Christmas hip-hop mix known to man. It’s called RARE TREATS VOLUME 1- Word To Santa and you can get it here, free!

Doc is an ill cat in a lot of ways and also one of the most generous people I’ve ever met. I’m not just saying that because he blessed me with a two hundred piece laserdisc collection and two laserdisc players, one having a built in Sega Genesis in it. I’m not only saying this because he hit me with mad old school punk/thrash cassette tapes, a turntable and a queen-sized bed, and I’m not just saying this because he blessed my boys Scott Thorough and Krayo with vintage Polo, Nautica and NorthFace. He’s just a generous guy. He’s also a very old-school type of guy. He has never given me a beat that he didn’t drive over to my house and hand to me on a cd himself. Doc has done a lot of production for Cool Calm Pete on tracks such as ‘Windsprints’, ‘Fuck You’ (featuring Thirstin Howl III), and ‘Modern Rhymes’. Also, he got two beats on the project I’m recording right now. When a kid from a corny ass ‘all-over-print’ type rap group asked Doc what he used to make his beats, Doc replied, “The Law”.
